Laura joined the Quay Street Physiotherapy team in 2011 - moving back to her hometown of Bundaberg after studying and working as a Physiotherapist in Brisbane. After graduating from The University of Queensland in 2009, Laura worked in a sports private practice in Brisbane in addition to providing physiotherapy services to Sunnybank Rugby Union Premier Colts team and Queensland netball teams.
In 2012 Laura was the physiotherapist for the Queensland Outback Barbarian Rugby Union team which travelled around America. Afterwards, she spent the year travelling Europe and worked as a physiotherapist in London.
Apart from treating musculoskeletal injuries, Laura has a special interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation. The vestibular system consists of the inner ear which can be a cause or associated with vertigo, dizziness, nausea, unsteadiness, visual blurring and migraine. Laura has worked with world leading vestibular professionals during her time in London as well as locally in Australia. She has completed extensive vestibular post graduate training around Australia and continues to attend vestibular conferences; keeping up to date in the latest research. She is a member of “VEDA: Vestibular Disorders Association” and “AVESTA: Australian Vestibular Association.”
Laura is passionate about educating other health professionals on vestibular disorders. Since 2015 she has run education sessions for GPs in the region- teaching the latest evidence on managing vestibular disorders. Laura is a keen sportswoman and enjoys competing for her local surf lifesaving club, running and swimming.
